How To Find Us

Campbell River, a scenic oceanfront city, is the fourth largest city on Vancouver Island. It is located on the 50th parallel on the east coast of Vancouver Island, midway between Victoria (266 km / 165 mi to the South, approx. 3 hour drive) and Cape Scott (top of Vancouver Island).

Whether you’re traveling from the Northern or Southern part of Vancouver Island, we are easy to find. Our office is in the Centre of Campbell River across from the Coast Discovery Hotel, and right next to the B.C. ferry terminal. We are within walking distance from the Visitor Information Centre and parking possibilities are endless. Our Office is located on the water, just look for our “Discovery Marine Safaris” banner, located on our roof.



Driving Directions
Travel Times:
Victoria – 3.5 hours
Nanaimo – 90 minutes
Port Alberni – 90 minutes
Courtenay – 45 minutes
Coming from the south take HWY 19, stay on this HWY until speed starts reducing down to 50 km/h. Take a right on HWY 19 A towards the Quadra Island ferry. Turn left into parking lot at the Ferry terminal.

Travelling by Air
If traveling by air, the Campbell River Municipal Airport, YBL, is about eight kilometers from our departure point and offers shuttle service and car rentals. The Harbor Airport is only two kilometers away for those of you arriving by seaplane.
Campbell River’s International airport is serviced by direct and connecting flights from Seattle (mid May until the end of September only) and Vancouver.
There are also direct flights offered from Calgary and Edmonton through the Comox Airport (45 km South/ 28 mi).

From Vancouver:

There are multiple possibilities to get to Vancouver Island from the mainland of B.C. via Vancouver. B.C. Ferries offers ferry service (vehicles and passengers) to Victoria (Swartz Bay) or Nanaimo (Duke Point = South end of Nanaimo or Departure Bay = Central Nanaimo). From Nanaimo to Campbell River is about 165 km / 102 mi north which takes about 1.5 hours on Highway 19. To enjoy the whole coastline of Campbell River take the Exit: Miracle Beach and continue North on the Oceanside route 19A.

From Washington State:
Vehicle and passenger ferry service is available from Bellingham via Victoria San Juan Cruises; from Port Angeles via Black Ball Transport or Victoria Express; and from Anacortes via Washington State Ferries

Victoria Clipper (from Seattle)
A high-speed catamaran passenger only service is available between downtown Seattle and Victoria's Inner Harbour: Victoria Clipper
Bus Service:

Island Coach Lines (Laidlaw) serves Victoria to Port Hardy, and points in between, including Campbell River. Connect to Island Coach Lines from Vancouver on Greyhound or Pacific Coach Lines.
